Donoussa is a small Cycladic island with an extent of just 13.5km2, located East of Naxos and North of Amorgos. Due to its geographical position, it maintains a low profile, away from the logic of mass tourism.
It is inhabited by about 150 permanent residents and has 4 settlements: Stavros, which is also the harbour, Messaria (Charavgi), Mersini and Kalotaritissa. The terrain is typically Cycladic, covered in savory, heather, sage, cedars, dry stone walls and prickly pears, without a dense structuring. On the island, and all year round, you will find accommodation, taverns, gorgeous beaches and signed (or not) trails for hiking.
The simplicity of life and the natural beauty make Donoussa ideal for those seeking a destination to unwind as well as have a bit of adventure!
Don’t miss the chance to visit!
